The centurion did not supposedly deserve to ask a favor from Jesus because he was a Roman, adversaries to the Jews.
However, he was very determined to get near to Jesus and ask Him heal his ailing servant because he firmly believed it was only Jesus who could straighten the paralyzed man who was home.
At first, the invitation was for Jesus to go his place to heal the servant but the centurion hesitated probably because he felt ashamed for he did not deserve Jesus' visit thus he just requested Him that He just say the words and his servant will be healed.
This is the faith that our Lord wants us to have, a faith in Him that even an apparent impossible thing could happen because of our belief in Him.
Jesus commended the Roman because he possessed true and deep faith in the Lord - a reason to compare the centurion with the Jews.
Do we, accepted children of God, also have true and deep faith in our Lord?
Lord, open our minds so that we can readily receive the graces that you constantly bestow on us everyday, Amen.

Today is first day of the Church's new year, the time of Advent.
This is the time for us to start preparing ourselves for the coming of our Christ of Christmas with open hearts to all that He wants us to do for Him.
Come to think of it: we are not deserving to wait for His coming because we still have a lot of thins that we do not want to change in our lives.
But just the same, we are exhorted to wait for His coming and be changed so that we become worthy of His presence upon His arrival.
However, we still have our Herods in us that want to thwart His arrival because we still have a lot of bad things in us that we do not want to change.
Thus, we have to thoroughly prepare ourselves and our hearts through our being changed and repentant of our sins in our four-week preparation of Advent so that we will be deserving to wait for our Christ Who will be born on Christmas.
Father, strengthen us till the end so that we will not regret on the day of the arrival of our Lord Jesus, Amen.

The Lord warns us not to succumb to the snares of vices, drunkenness and the daily tribulations in our lives.
He warns us purposely to prepare us so that we would be able to anticipate His second coming to judge us.
These warnings are compared to a trap that catches us by surprise thus we have to always be vigilant and ready by regularly praying daily to prepare us and evade from the consequences and eventually see Him face-to-face on the Day of His Judgment.
The world is full of vices and daily human tribulation because these are parts of the test that He wants us to pass so that we can prepare ourselves when the Day of Judgment comes.
Are we presently facing problems and anxieties of life so that we pray to God for His help?
My God, give us strength so that we can face the tests in our lives thus we could prepare ourselves for the day of Your coming to judge us, Amen.

We do not know the day and time when the Lord will come again in glory.
But the He gives us signs, not only to wake us up as a warning, but also to rouse our spirits to be ready to see His Kingdom come in all Its power and glory.
Those who reject God and His Kingdom of righteousness will suffer on that day, but those who long to see the Lord face-to-face will marvel that day of joy and rejoicing.
The Lord wants us to be filled with joyful anticipation for his coming again.
He surely comes to us each day and speaks to our hearts.
As he promised, the Lord will surely come again in all His glory.
Do we look for the signs pointing to the Lord's return and do we pray that he come quickly to establish peace and justice on the earth?
Lord Jesus Christ, you are the beginning and the end of all history, and the Lord of all creation, give us joyful hope and confidence that we will see you face to face when you return in glory, Amen.

Our readings for today speak of the great destruction and the pain on earth before Jesus comes back - something we already knew since then.
Have we prepared ourselves to greet Him whenever he comes and appears to us even if we are facing great tribulations?
We might wonder whether we are worthy of His invitation to the wonderful celebration of His coming.
What must we do to ensure that we have a place in the life after death?
In the book of Revelations, we are exhorted to hold to the truth that we are blessed because we are called to the wedding feast of the Lamb.
While we await Jesus' reappearance, we can invoke Him in many great or small ways.
We just have to call His name and keep repeating our prayers until we gradually discern his close and gentle presence in our lives.
Lord Jesus, we need You and want You to be with us every moment of our lives, Amen.

We have to experience persecution if we want to have a godly life in Jesus our Christ.
The Lord wants us also to expect persecutions.
This expectation prepares and arms us for spiritual warfare and we are certain that Christ will help us because He loves us.
He will give us His wisdom so that we can face our adversaries.
God wants us to face persecutions, treacheries and adveristies because of His name.
But He promised us protection hence we have to remain steadfast to attain salvation.
Father, judge me worthy to be persecuted, Amen.

Tagpasidan-an sila na dili kon signus lamang an hanapon nila kondili an kaharian nan Diyos.
Mahamok na signus an hikit-an nila - mga giyera, gutom, sakit, dagku na bayod sanan linog - pero an Idja tagtudlo an katapusan na paghukom.

The Jewish people took great pride in the temple at Jerusalem, a marvel of the ancient world, but Jesus prophesied its destruction.
The foretelling of this destruction was a dire judgment in itself.
They sought Jesus for a sign that would indicate when this would occur.
He admonished them to not seek signs but rather to seek God's kingdom.
He said that there will be plenty of signs – such as wars, famines, diseases, tidal waves and earthquakes – pointing to God's ultimate judgment.
They were again admonished not to be deceived by those who would use His name when "the time has come" and not follow them.
The bottom line of all these is Jesus' exhortation for us to prepare and be ready for in the very soonest time, Judgment Day is inevitable.
Have we readied ourselves to face our Great Judge when "the time has come?"
Father, may we not condemn ourselves to hell, but let You love us, Amen.

The amount the widow gave did not matter; what was important was that she gave her heart.
She didn’t have much and one coin would have been enough, but she gave everything she had.
The widow forgot herself to the point of giving away to the poor everything she had to live on, thinking only of the life to come.
The others gave of their abundance but she - even poorer, perhaps, than many of the poor – for her whole fortune resided in two small coins - she it was who carried in her heart more wealth than many of the wealthy.
She looked only at the riches of the eternal reward.
In her desire for heavenly treasure, she gave up all she possessed as being goods that come from the earth and return to the earth.
She gave what she had in order to possess what she did not as yet see.
This poor little lady had not forgotten the means foreseen and arranged by our Lord for acquiring the future reward.
Have we prepared ourselves like the widow did so that the Lord will not forget us in our desire to acquire His reward?
Lord, give me a generous heart so that I would be able to give my all for Your glory and magnificence, Amen.

(The Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ the King)
What's the point of this story for us?
The kind of life we choose to live now and the moral choices we make will have consequences that determine our future – for better or for worse.
Separation is an inevitable consequence of judgment.
The Day of Judgement will reveal who showed true compassion and mercy toward their neighbor.
As much as we might like to judge the parables, the parables, nonetheless, judge us.
Jesus teaches us a very important lesson about loving our neighbor and taking responsibility for others.
God will judge us not only for the wrong we have done but also for what we have failed to do.
Now is the time of God’s mercy, for seeking his help and grace to turn away from sin, and to walk in his way of love.
Ask the Holy Spirit to purify your heart that you may love as God loves and live charitably with all.Lord Jesus Christ, you are my King and there is no other. May your love rule in my heart that I may think and act with charity towards all, Amen.

readings yesterday, saturaday
The minds of the Sadducees have already been dead set that there is no resurrection
The question about resurrection that they asked Jesus was not really meant for them to learn more information on the subject but to expect a ridiculous situation if ever Jesus could not answer them well on their question.
Heaven for the Sadducees is here and now on earth hence they do not believe in the life everlasting, nor on angels and on evil spirits.
But the truth has been written in the Bible that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob during their respective times is still the same God that we have in this age and until the end of time.
We are led by the Holy Spirit to see the truth of the everlasting love of God and His everlasting life that He wants us to have.
Do we still doubt that God prepares us to have an everlastintg life with Him?
Holy Spirit, because You made me Your dwelling place each day, I have learned that there is really a need for me to prapare myself for an everlasting life, Amen.

The traders and the money changers were driven out by Jesus in the temple at Jerusalem.
Jesus was upset with them because they made the temple a den of thieves.
And this is the only incident in the Gospels where we see Jesus using physical force.
I think it only meant to became a warning to the people that God really takes our worship very seriously.
In this incident we see Jesus' startling and swift action in cleansing the temple of those who were using it to exploit the worshipers of God.
We have seen the money changers taking advantage of the poor and forcing them to pay many times more than was right – in the house of God no less!
Their robbery of the poor was not only dishonoring God but rendering unjustly toward their neighbors.
Despite the objections of the religious leaders because Jesus was listened to by the people daily in the the temple, they regarded Him with great awe and respect.
If we also listen to God's word with humble and attentive hearts and with a willingness to be taught, then we are in a good place to allow His words to change and transform us in the likeness of Christ.
The Lord wants to teach us his ways so that we may also grow in holiness.
Do we allow God's word to transform us in His way of love and holiness?
Lord, You also dwell with us here on earth everyday, please let us act holy, love truly and walk humbly with You, Amen.

Pinaagi sab kan Kristo, mahimo an tawo na templo nan Espiritu Santo.
Tagbisitahan nan Diyos an tawo nan an una pa sanan padadjon pa gihapon pagbisita Sidja dato kuman pinaagi nan Idja mga regalo sanan an mga taghimo na Espiritu Santo para dato.
Ato ba tagkilaya an adlaw-adlaw na pagbisita nan Diyos sa ato kinabuhi kuman?
Ginoo ko, himoa ako na instrumento para hikilay-an 'Kaw nan tawo kay Imo man kami tagpuno nan Imo gugma, mga grasya sanan mga regalo kada adlaw, Amen.
What might be the reason for Jesus' weeping and lamentation over the city of Jerusalem.
Jeremiah's prophesy during his time on the destruction of Jerusalem and its temple was echoed by Jesus' weeping and lamentation also.
At the arrival of Jesus, the prophet sent by God to Jerusalem, people did not accept Him in the city because of their pride and lack of faith and for these reasons, they did not believe Him.
Their lack of faith and their disbelief to the Messiah Who was sent by God have been the causes of the devastation and destruction of the city which was in the mind of Jesus.
But the effect of weeping and lamentation was also the reason of mercy and love of God to all and He sent His only Son, Jesus, His living temple Who redeems the sins of the world.
Through Christ, man becomes the temple of the Holy Spirit.
The visitation of God during the olden times is the same visitation that He does to us now through His gifts and the things that the Holy Spirit does for us.
Do we welcome the daily visitation of God in our lives?
My God, shape me as Your instrument to make people realize that You always fill us with Your love, grace and gifts everyday, Amen.

readings for today, wednesday
The parable in last Sunday's gospel was almost the same with what we have today.
The theme of the story is the same: trust of the master to his servants.
While the master was on travel, his trust and confidence to the servants are tested through the disposition of the money that he entrusted them.
At his return from travel, he rewarded the faithful servants with higher responsibilities but he punished the inutile one because of his inability to think on ways and means how the money entrusted him makes profits.
Jesus offered us a kingdom of justice, love and peace by calling us to live in an atmosphere where He is Lord and King.
Jesus' death on the cross becomes the salvation of our sins against God.
It is for this reason that He untrusted to us the gifts and the graces that He gave us, with the accompanying freedom so that we can be responsible in using them for the lives that conform with God's plans for us.
God abhors irresponsible people because what He wants are men and women who could be entrusted and responsible in using the graces and gifts that He bestows on them.
Lord Jesus, guide my heart and mind through Your Holy Spirit so that I can perfectly use the gifts, grace, time, and resources that You gave me for Your glory and magnificence, Amen.

our readings for today, tuesday
His being short prevented Zaccheus to see Jesus walking on the road because of the great crowd along with Him.
Thus he decided to ran ahead of the crowd and then he climbed the sycamore tree to have a good view of Jesus.
But Jesus told him to go down so that he could join Him in walking toward his house to eat.
The crowd started to grumble why Jesus befriended a sinner.
But for Zaccheus, because he was so excited, thrilled and happy to a have a friend in a Master, he promised to give half of his wealth to the poor.
Outrightly, Jesus declared that from then on, all the people living in the house of Zaccheus will share the salvation offered by God.
How does the story of Zaccheus affect our individual lives?
For me, true conversion through repentance and faith with the accompanying reparation on the wrongdoings caught my attention to reflect on.
Truly, there is a need for us to be ready to receive the manifestations of the purpose of Jesus' birth for the salvation of our sins.
Almighty Father, give me Your grace, Lord, through Your Spirit, so that I can see the salvation that You offer to all of us, Amen.

An sitwasyon nagpakita lamang na mamati gadjod an Diyos aber kon sin-o na tawo an manginahanglan nan Idja luna.
Tagdadjeg ni Hesus si Bartimeo kay idja man gadjod tagkilaya an pagka-gamhanan sanan pagkamakaloluy-on nan Diyos.
readings for today , monday
The blind man, Bartimaeus, is determined to get near to Jesus Whom he believed to have the power to heal his blindness.
He did not mind on the consequence of disturbing the crowd when he shouted the name of the Son of David.
This is the only opportunity for him to ask a favor from the Messiah even if he could disturb the folks around Jesus.
On His part, Jesus also gave this blind man a chance by calling him and asking him what He will do to him.
The situation clearly manifests that God really listens to the pleas of persons who ask for His time.
Jesus commends Bartimaeus because of his acknowledgment of God's power and mercy.
Bartimaeus' expression of gratitude to Jesus is not only for the gift of faith and the gift of physical sight that he received from Christ but also for his opportunity to be able to follow the Lord as His disciple.
Are we also grateful to God that He gave us eyes of faith for us to be able to know Him as our Lord and Healer?
Lord, give me the grace to be able to see you through my deep faith in You, Amen.

Iresponsable an taghimo nan ikatuyo na suluguon kay waya man gadjoy idja ma-ani kon ilubong an mga kuwarta kay dili man motubo an kuwarta sa lupa.

Why did Jesus tell this parable which tackles on trust of the master to his servants before he goes on travel?
What probably matters here is our being servants of God so that we may realize and do the responsibilities of our being Christians.
The parable primarily tells us about the trust of the master to his servants because he is traveling to a far place for a time.
We could not imagine a person trusting his business to people with whom he does not know personally but the point here is his trust to the three servants was there because he was pretty sure that they will do their jobs even if he was not around.
Thus it was just on the perception of the servants on their responsibilities based on the trust that they individually enjoy.
It all depended on their management style on the investments entrusted them -- the money entrusted to the two doubled-up because they indulge into profitable businesses, but the third servant just buried his supposed to be investment money because he was afraid that he be blamed if the business fails.
What the third servant did was irresponsible becuase he can not expect his buried money to gain any profit albeit money will not grow on soil.
If it were a seed of a fruit, there was a possiblity for it to grow and bear another fruits because this is nature's way.
Thus we, being Christians, have to strive hard in nurturing the spiritual lives that He entrusted us for this is what He wants of us and in this way, we can also prepare our lives for the everlasting life with Him in heaven.
Lord, You taught us that Your day will come like a thief in the night thus give us the grace, Lord, to prepare us for our everlasting life with You in heaven, Amen.

Pabalik-balik magsamok-samok dimo kay waya pa nidja makuha an idja kinahanglan dimo.
Bisan pa gani an maldito na huwes nohatag dadjon nan idja desisyon base sa pagsamok-samok nan babadje, uno pa kaha an ato Diyos kon wayay hunong kita mangaliya Didja.
our readings fro today, saturday
What will you do if one person keeps on approaching you daily to ask a favor from you?
He keeps on pestering you daily because he has not taken the thing that wants from you yet.
You will surely think of a strategy how to dispose of this recalcitrant person because you do not want to be pestered always.
In our gospel today, we can see the unwilling judge who is dismayed by the frequent bothering of the widow thus he eventually gave in to her request for a decision in her case.
But the lesson that our gospel teaches us today is to encourage us to pray unceasingly without becoming weary.
It does not mean that God grants our prayers because He is disturbed but He only wants us to pray without becoming weary and in an unceasingly manner.
Even the wicked judge immediately rendered his decision because of the botherings of the woman, how much more with our God if we do not cease on praying to Him.
My God, give me the grace to be able to have a dialogue with You through my praise and worship, thanksgiving and suplication on my petitions everyday, Amen.

Nahibayo man kita na taghigugma kita karadjaw nan Diyos -- tagtawag kita para higugma-on sab Sidja.
our readings for today, friday
In our first reading which is taken from the second letter of St. John, he exhorts the early followers of Christ to live a life of love.
He tells them to live their lives according to the commandments of God.
This life is what St. John wants us to have also in this present times of ours.
If we fail to do this, it means that we can not have the Father and the Son with us.
We are also encouraged in our psalm today by proclaiming happiness for us in following the law of the Lord.
We know that God loves us very much -- He calls us to love Him also.
For us to have the Father and the Son for all eternity, we need to follow the law of the Lord and happiness will be ours.
We pray to God that He gives us the grace to meet the challenges that we face each day.Lord, give us the grace so that we may be able to face all the earthly problems and the daily challenges in our Christian lives, Amen.

Onesimus, a slave and a prisoner who is also a Gentile, and Philemon, the master and owner of Onesimus and a Jew, were led by Paul to the Lord.
Onesimus, a very poor slave who was sold to Philemon and a prisoner is very much of an opposite to Philemon, a very rich Jew who bought Onesimus for a slave.
But they both accepted the invitaton to become Christians and be near to God through the evangelization of Paul.
Paul must be mysterious because he was able to lead these two persons of different social status to our God.
He must have a virtue in him because they were persuaded to listen to him and even as he went around, he was able to convert many people to Christianity as he announced the good news of salvation.
The most important thing in what he did for the Kingdom of God is that the Holy Spirit was always with him all the time to guide him in everything that he did.
We can also do our own evangelization as commanded to us if we ask God that He send His Spirit to us so that we can do the things that He wants us to do for His glory.
Why don't we try to start now to spread the good news of our Lord to others!
Lord, implant in my heart the courage that I need so that I can lead other people to Your kingdom, Amen.

readings for today, wednesday
If we try to imagine the scene in our gospel, we can see the ten men from afar who are infected with the dreaded leprosy shouting and asking Jesus to heal them from their disease.
True enough, Jesus manifested His grace and mercy by healing the ailments of the men who asked help from Him.
But what happend was, of the ten men who asked for healing Jesus, only one came back to express his gratuitude as he glorified Jesus despite his being a Samaritan, a person supposedly being despised by Jews at that time.
Thus Jesus asked what had happend to the other nine who have also been recepients of the grace and mercy of God but only one came back, a Samaritan at that.
In our lives, we should always have a grateful hearts that express thanksgiving and praises to God because He always fills our lives with blessings and graces and mercy for the sins that we have committed against Him.
And faith should also be in our hearts always so that the constant grace that comes from God will always be with us.
Lord God, teach me to be grateful for all the blessings and graces that you always bestow on me everyday, Amen.

Majuhot seguro sidja kon paselbihon pa sidja nan idja amo sa pagkaon kay mahawoy pa man an idja lawas.
After a day's work plowing the fields and tending the animal to the meadows, a servant takes his much needed rest at his master's homestead.
The servant might get mad at his master if he is told to serve at table when he is supposed to be resting his much needed rest in his room.
But why did he oblige himself to serve his master even if he has an exhausted body that needed rest?
The gospel probably means that he is just a lowly servant who should have a grateful and joyful heart because he is given an opportunity to be of service to a powerful master.
For us as servants of God, we must at all times be grateful to Him because we have been called to serve Him by His grace and mercy.
My God, thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to serve You because You really meant us to be created to become Your servants here on earth, Amen.

As I see it, our gospel for today teaches us about being the cause and temptation to sin, doing brotherly correction and forgiving a remorseful sinner.
Necessarily, we have to evade from being the cause to sin of a person through our temptation because as Jesus said, "it would be better for him if a millstone were put around his neck and he be thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin."
The other lesson is on forgiveness and we are exhorted to forgive a person who has wronged us even if he asks for forgiveness several times in a day, an apparently impossible action required of us.
But deep faith in God will enable us to forgive those who have wronged us because only by His grace that we can obtain strength so that we can do the things that He wants us to do.
Holy Spirit, let me learn Your ways of disposition so that I can face my problems squarely because I know that You are always my guide in everything I do, Amen.

"Templo (huy-anan) kita nan Diyos sanan an Idja Espiritu naghuya sab dato," matud pa ni Pablo sa ikaduha na pagbasa nato kuman.
Kon templo nan Diyos an ato lawas, kinahanglan ampingan gadjod nato ini na dili kapasipad-an hangtud na maguba kay huy-anan man ini nan Diyos demudo sagrado ini kay Sagrado man Sidja.
our reading for today, sunday
"Our body is the temple of God and His Spirit dwells in us," thus says Paul in our second reading today.
If our body is the dwelling place of God, we have to take good care of it that nobody abuses it to perdition because it is His home, thus it should be holy because He is holy.
So we must not abuse our body, using it in useless things that do not please God because after all, He is the one dwelling in us and in our hearts.
In our town, there is this saying for the drunkards that goes, "bear with everything, lungs, you have an abusive boss."
God wants us to have clean bodies because these are His dwelling places thus He says to us, "Be holy becasue I am holy."
He is calling us today to commit ourselves for His service for His glory here on earth as it is in heaven.
Lord Jesus Christ, You opened the home of Your Father so that we can glorify Him in spirit and truth so help us to be near Your throne of mercy with gratitude and joy in our hearts, Amen.

Kita isab, para sa mata nan ato Diyos, jaon an Idja kalooy kay hingkit-an man Nidja an ato pagka-maloloy-on sa ato isigkatawo.
readings for today, saturday
If we could be trusted in small things, we can also be trusted in big ones, but if we could not be trusted in small things, nobody will trust us in big ones.
Thus, if we can not be trusted in dishonest money, how much more with true wealth and if we are not trustworthy, who will trust us?
In giving generously to help those who are in need is, as I see it, the very theme of our gospel today.
The recipient of our help will definitely feel happy because he will automatically become our friend and we can be assured that he is grateful in his heart and he will pray that God will pour upon us grace upon graces.
God will also definitely be merciful to us because He sees in us our generousity to our fellowmen.
My God, fill me with Your spiritual as well as material blessings so that I can always be of help to my fellowman, Amen.

Naglisod ako pagtugkad nan ato pagbasa kuman kay bagan halayum man karadjaw kay adja man hinoon dadjega ni Hesus sa Idja estorya an maldito na saligando nan lupa nan maestro.
An punto dinhi sa ako tan-aw na adeser masipa an saligando nan idja maestro, nakig-negosyar anay sidja sa mga naka-utang sa idja maestro, pero taghimo nidja na may diskuwento an idja panukot ugsa na nalipay an mga may-utang kay sa tan-aw nila, buotan man badja an maestro kay tagpa-diskuwentuhan man sila sa ila mga utang.
Waya lamang sila mahibayo na hinimo-himo ra badja nan saligando an panukot, na wayay pagtugot an idja aksiyon gikan sa idja amo.
Ugsa tagdadjeg an saligando kay nahimo man nidja an pagpabalhin nan impresyon nan mga may utang dila gikan sa mayaot na impresyon na adja na hinoon ka maradjaw an maestro para dila.
Ambadja an pagdadjeg nan maestro sa saligando nidja kay impuhalan man sidja nan idja ka mangginhatagon sanan idja pagka-mapasayloon.
I have a hard time comprehending our gospel today because the implication in the parable changes the value of appreciation when the shrewd steward is commended for his shrewd action.
The point here is that before the master kicked-out the steward, he was able to negotiate with their debtors and have them pay in discounted amounts thus the debtors expressed their gratitude to the master because, after all, the master has demonstrated his generousity to them through the discounts accorded them.
But the debtors are not aware that it was only a desicion made by the shrewd steward and not sanctioned by his master.
The steward was praised because he was able to change the impression of the debtors from the master's being a bad lender to being a good and generous landowner.
The master praised his steward because he was outdone in his generousity and mercy.
But it did not necessarily mean that the focus of the appreciation was the steward's shrewdness but his ways of evading from shame on the consequence of being kicked-out from his work.
The above situation may be likened to our preparation for the future, the life that will come after His judgement on us all.
Father God, mold and prepare us for the life that you have in store for us, Amen.

readings for today, thursday
The Pharisees are full of jealousy in their hearts because Jesus have been so close to the tax collectors and sinners thus they questioned their closeness to Him.
Being close to tax collector and sinners is considered an affront to the laws and regulations of the Jews by the Pharisees.
But what would be the implication of the parable on the lost sheep and coin that Jesus is telling in the gospel in relation to the Kingdom of God that He is selling.
I think God only wants to let us see His human nature in Jesus -- who feels bad when we are lost, gets hurt when we sin against Him and feels happy when we repent from our sinfulness.
He really has a profound love for us, His children, so much so that He will seek us if we get lost from the path that He wants us to travel on.
That is why His mercy and compassion for us are too deep to comprehend.
Necessarily, we have to repent from our sinfulness and go back to the path of holiness that God wants us to travel so that we can repay His immense goodness to us all.
Lord Jesus, send to me Your Spirit so that I will be empowered to repent from my sinfulness against You and my Fellowmen, Amen.

Uno man kaha na kahimuhian (hate) man an termino na taggamit ni Hesus sa ebanghelyo kuman -- kahimuhian an mga miyembro nan pamilya sanan bisan an ato kaugalingon?
readings for taday, wednesday
Why did Jesus choose the term "hate" in our gospel today -- hate the members of our family and even our very own lives?
I think what Jesus really meant here is not to hate but to make a second priority choice if we are to choose from two choices.
The mean point here is that God should always be our priority because our relationship with Him is more important than our relationship with our family.
We should always be ready to choose Jesus' way of the cross if we really want to have an everlasting happy life in heaven because sacrifice is an integral part of our decision to choose Him.
Are we utilizing the love that God sprinkled in our hearts?
We also have to be ready to meet our future by preparing our lives for this glorious life that we hope for.
The love of God is the main factor for our decision make Him the first priority in our lives.
My God, may Your love makes me decide to make You the most important person in my life, Amen.

our readings today, tuesday
The story in today's gospel portrays how greatly privileged are the poor, the lame, the maimed and the blind when they acted on the invitation to the banquet of the master.
The master invited great men and friends but they did not come - they have one thousand one reasons not to go to the banquet.
It was natural for the master to be enraged and tell them that they will no longer be invited in his next banquets.
In our present lives, we are also invited by Jesus to follow His way of life.
If God asks us now if we will follow Him, will we answer Him with a straight "yes" or we will still look for reasons to evade His invitation.
Lord, You fill us with Your love and grace each day, help us to evade from the things that will thwart us in doing Your will, Amen.

Jesus did not forbid us to invite only our relatives and friends in our banquets or feasts when he suggeted that we invite the poor, the blind, the lame and the maimed.
Jesus himself attended in banquets like an the wedding at Cana, at Martha's and Mary's, at the invitation of the pharisees an in many other feasts because He could not refuse their invitations.
Probably, Jesus did not necessarily mean that we have to be indiscreminate in inviting people to our banquets but He might just be wanting to examine our hearts if we could also demonstrate our sincerity and favor to those who can not repay our generousity like the poor who have nothing.
Sincerity is a manifestation of sacrifice of a true goodness of a person that comes from the heart full of mercy and compassion.
We can not outdo God's generousity that is why we have to demonstrate our goodness to our fellowmen without waiting for any repayment from them.
Lord, give me the grace to express my sincere love and mercy to those who need my help, Amen.

What kind of future are we preparing for in our lives and what kind of life that we prepare for after our death?
God put in our hearts the desire for an everlasting life and happiness.
But death is a reality thus God gives us His own heavenly life that we have to nurture.
The Holy Spirit Who dwells in our hearts will guide us so that we will be able to do the things that the Lord wants us to do.
It is all up to us if we cultivate and nurture the seed that He sowed in our lives.
Where do we want to go with, the goats which are on the leftside or the sheep which are on the rightside?
My Lord, cleanse my heart so that I could join the sheeps who will enjoy everlasting happiness that you prepared for, Amen.
